MOCOPS Board Position Job Descriptions:

Please check out these opportunities to serve on the Board of Missouri Concerns of Police Survivors:

President responsibilities: Will act as an official spokesperson for the Chapter. Will preside over all chapter meetings and events. Will be responsible for overseeing the submission of reports requested by National C.O.P.S. and government documents. Will be prepared to do public speaking at events and fundraisers. Attend and run all 4 Board Meetings each year including writing out the agenda. Attend the State Memorial in Jefferson City. Attend National Police Week if needed upon request. Attend as many Chapter Memorials, Functions, and Events as possible. Meet with new and current survivors as needed. Meet with Police agency heads. Correspond with other organizations such as Missouri Funeral Assistance Team and Supporting Heroes on Line of Duty Deaths. Respond to Line of Duty Deaths or appoint another Board Member to respond. Voting position on Board Decisions. Two year volunteer commitment, elected on Odd Years. Can only do two terms back to back for a total of 4 years in this position.

Vice President responsibilities: Will act as an official spokesperson for the Chapter when requested by the President. Will fill in areas where and when the President is not available. Attend all 4 Board Meetings each year. Attend as many Memorials, Functions, and Events as possible. Meet with new and current survivors as needed. Voting Position on Board Decisions. Two year voluntary commitment, elect on Even Years. Can only do two terms back to back for a total of 4 years in this position.

Treasurer responsibilities: Will act as an official spokesperson for the Chapter when requested by the President. Keep all the financial books. Maintain all checking and savings accounts. Send in quarterly reports to National C.O.P.S. on time. Attend all 4 Board Meetings every year and provide a financial report of all deposits and expenditures for the Board. Attend as many MOCOPS Fundraisers, Functions, and Activities as possible. Voting Position on Board Decisions. Two year volunteer commitment, elected on Even Years. Can only do two terms back to back for a total of 4 years in this position.

Secretary responsibilities: Will act as an official spokesperson for the Chapter when requested by the President. Take Minutes at all 4 Board Meetings every year and provide an approved copy to National on a quarterly basis. Maintain website and social media as needed unless appointed to another Board Member. Attend all 4 Board meetings yearly, and as many Memorials, Functions, and Events as possible. Voting Position on Board Decisions. Two year voluntary commitment, elected on Odd Years. Can only do two terms back to back for a total of 4 years in this position.

Survivor Liaison: Will act as an official spokesperson for the Chapter when requested by the President. Will respond to Line of Duty Deaths when requested to aid the Police Agency, and Family immediately following death to aid in services such as Funeral, Emotional Support, Collect Survivor Contact Information, Benefits, and to provide information on what our Chapter and National can provide to the Agency and Family. Additional support as seen fit. Voting Position on Board Decisions. Two year commitment, but renewable.

Trustee: Can aid and help all positions, start and run committees on various projects and events, attend Board Meetings, Memorials, Functions, and Events as much as possible. Voting Position on Board Decisions. Two year voluntary commitment, but renewable.

Law Enforcement Liaison responsibilities: A current or retired Law Enforcement Police Officer. Network with Police Agencies. Respond to Line of Duty Deaths as a MOC.O.P.S. representative. Attend Board Meetings. Attend as many MOCOPS Fundraisers, Functions, and Activities as possible. NON-Voting position on Board Decisions. Two year commitment, but renewable.

Committee Member: A non voting position offered to any member who would like to assist or volunteer on a committee project or event. (ie. Fall Festival, Winter Party, Sunshine Committee, etc.)
